Perserverance

In my book A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier,  A boy named Ishmael Beah, at the age of  twelve, becomes and unwilling boy soldier, after his village in Sierra Leone is attacked, Ishmael and his brothers go wandering from village to village in search of food and shelter. And eventually become soldiers in the child army. They become killing machines, and become addicted to various drugs. Eventually Ishmael's Lieutenant in the army turns them over to Unicef, and they go to America for rehabilitation.

Ishmael's story of perserverance reminds me of the story of Registre, a Haitian immigrant whom, through perserverance, was able to live his dream and get into medical school.

J.R.R. Tolkien - The FellowShip of the Ring

I am currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring, a fantasy story, that takes place after The Hobbit, which was the prequel to this series. The main character of this novel is Bilbo Baggins' nephew, Frodo Baggins. The novel starts out with Frodos 33rd birthday. and then goes onto to talk about the history of the Ring, which Bilbo discovered in The Hobbit.

John Ronald Reuel Tolkien (3 January 1892 - 2 September 1973) was an English writer, poet, and university professor, and is known as the father of modern fantasy literature, or high fantasy.
Tolkiens' son Chirstoper published all of his works which he had written throughout the course of his lifetime. Tolkien used to serve in the army as an officer during World War 1. He also earned the 5th rank on list by Time of Most Earning Dead People. He is a great inspiration to all fantasy writers around today. Kudos to you Mr. Tolkien

The Hobbit : Setting

J.R.R. Tolkien is known for his extremely descriptive settings; The Hobbit is no different. From the beginning of the book, The Hobbit  straight away by describing where the main character: Bilbo Baggins lives. The second sentence of the book is " Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole and that means comfort". Straight away the book starts out with a colorful, descriptive sentence, and pulls the reader right into the world of Bilbo Baggins.

This book takes place in a fantasy universe in which, there are wizards, draves, dragons, elves, and hobbits, along with many other made up creatures. The first chapter of the book starts out by describing Bilbo Baggins. He is a well-off hobbit, and likes to live a quiet life in his affluent little hobbit-hole, avoiding any conflict and adventure. One day an old wizard named Gandalf stops by and Bilbo is thrown into a whirlwind of action
